Check out our family of writing apps, developed by writers for writers.

You might ask yourself why we have so many writing apps. The answer is fairly simple – because we’re writers, too.

Surprised that Zombies enjoy writing? Our first inspiration to write was to correct the historical record. Zombies have gotten a hugely bad rap. And the historical record doesn’t correctly identify the various species of Zombies. We’re Pink Zombies, not Grey or Green – now, those guys are vicious and brainless! Us? We’re harmless – we don’t eat humans or even human brains. We are carnivores, though – we prefer lamb brains above all.

But I digress.

Since starting to write, we found that, well, some of us actually enjoyed it, so of course we had to have apps to suit our needs.

WriteOn for macOS and iOS

WriteOn writing app for iOS

The iOS version of WriteOn, a writing app

WriteOn for macOS

WriteOn for macOS

WriteOn lets writers use their Mac computer, iPhone, or iPad from the comfort of their home (or wherever) to write their novel, short story, or other writing project and track their writing progress at the same time.

When you want to be on the go and don’t want to lug your Mac around with you, transfer your project to the iOS version of WriteOn (separate purchase required) and continue writing with barely a missed beat. With WriteOn on the Mac and on iOS, you can write anywhere!

Whether you’re writing flash fiction or a novel, on your own or as part of a challenge like NaNoWriMo or the 3-Day Novel Contest, WriteOn can handle your writing needs. Have multiple writing projects going on at the same time, all with multiple chapters? No problem!

Name your project, set a target date and a target word count and the app will calculate how many days you have left until your target date and how many words you need to write each day to meet your goal. The project details screen tells you at a glance how much you’ve written, how many days you’ve written, how many words you wrote each day on average, and the percentage complete for your project.

WriteOn also lets you see the individual word counts for each chapter of your project. See at a glance which chapter may need beefing up, or which chapter can use a bit of trimming.

Want to send a copy of your project to your friend or loved one? Go right ahead and send it via email or messenger or…! Or use the built-in social sharing to keep your various social streams informed. Share your successes with your friends!

WriteIdeas iOS app for recording ideas.

Ever have a great idea for a novel in the middle of the night but can’t remember what it was the next morning? It had a castle and dragons and anti-grav vehicles. The heroine of the story was a blue-skinned woman, and the plot was brilliant. What was it now????

Or, come up with a great one-liner for one of your characters while you are on the bus or the train, but can’t quite remember how it went once you got home? If you’ve faced this or countless other similar situations as a writer, then WriteIdeas is for you.

WriteIdeas is a database for your writing (or poem or blog article or song or whatever) ideas, whether they be plots, characters, places, quotes, story fragments, or something else entirely. Categories are fully customizeable so you determine how you use WriteIdeas.

WordOne for iOS

Do you need to track your daily writing progress? WordOne is for you! Set a word count goal and a completion date, and track your progress by entering your written word count. WordOne tells you your current average words per day and the number of words a day you’d need to write in order to reach your set goal.

As most successful writers have noted, becoming a successful author requires dedication and discipline. WordOne aims to provide this dedication and discipline by allowing you to set a goal for your writing project(s) and then letting you track your progress in reaching your goal by entering daily (or multiple times a day) word counts.

The app calculates detailed statistics based on your entered data, then provides you with useful information such as your current average words per day and the number of words a day you’d need to write in order to reach your set goal.

WordOne also provides you with visual indications of progress on each of your projects. The main project listing not only provides a progress meter which is updated as you add new session word counts, but it also colour codes the items in the project listing based on how close (or far) you are from achieving your set targets.

But that’s not all! WordOne also lets you share your writing progress with other writers via social media so that you can encourage them (or rub your success in their faces :P) by showing how much you’d achieved.
